Police Corporal Suspended With Pay Following Off-Duty Assault Arrest In Maryland

A veteran police officer has been suspended following an alleged assault during a domestic incident in Laurel, the Prince George's County Police Department announced.

On Tuesday, the agency issued an alert advising that Cpl. Robert Harvin III has been suspended following his arrest early on Tuesday morning for second-degree assault while he was off-duty.

The incident was reported shortly after midnight on May 14.

Harvin has been with the department since 2016 and is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol. He has been suspended with pay.

This marks the second time in days that a member of the department has been suspended with pay following an incident with Officer Charles Williams, Jr., who was arrested last week for assaulting a deputy the Charles County Sheriff's Office investigating a separate domestic incident .
